Impact Wrestling contacts beIN Sports to air in 2019
During the last weeks it’s been reported that Impact Wrestling would be in the process of searching to host its show. Chains like TruTV SyFy and WGN have been in the provider’s focus for 2019.
However new information demonstrates that Impact will also have contacted another option that is interesting. Dave Meltzer in the previous edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, states that Impact has contacted the international sports network owned by the Al Jazeera group, beIN Sports.
The problem of attempting to negotiate with beIN Sports is that they currently have an exclusivity agreement with Major League Wrestling (MLW) in the United States, confirmed by its president, Court Bauer. The reason that Impact, such as other pro-wrestling projects have been interested in MLW, is that they are eager to broadcast that content in prime time, as they do with MLW.
At the moment Impact is calling other tv channels, but there is no one that’s considering adding the content of the company to its broadcasting grid. The impact is being broadcast in Pop TV, with whom they have an agreement until the end of the year. Impact has reached an agreement with Pop, until the company ends up reaching a contract continuing the emissions.
As reported in the event the negotiations with channels fail, Impact will opt despite the discussions with the chain, such as the decision to move the Impact schedule without consulting the company ahead.
